In August, Steve and I visited Matthijs and Jana in Amsterdam. It took me a while to write this article because the trip still feels too good to be true.
今年八月，我和 Steve 去了阿姆斯特丹拜訪我們的朋友 Matthijs 和 Jana。我花了不少時間才寫完這篇文章，因為直到現在，我還是覺得這趟旅程恍如一場夢境、美好得令人難以置信。
Lead Climbing | 先鋒攀岩
I got my lead climbing certification for the first time earlier in August. It has been an incredible experience, and I hope one day I will become the best rock climber I can ever be.
八月初，我第一次拿到了先鋒攀岩的認證。這是一段十分難忘的經驗，我希望我能繼續進步，成為我所能成為最好的攀岩者。
《人生大事》| “Lighting up the Stars”
《人生大事》是大陸一部關於殯葬師的電影，也是今年繼《你好，李煥英》之後，第二部我好好坐下來看的電影。電影中有一句很溫柔浪漫的話：「天上的每一顆星，都是愛過我們的人。」
“Lighting up the Stars” is a Chinese movie about morticians. It is also the second movie that I sat down and watched this year, after “Hi, Mom.” There is a very romantic quote from the movie, “Every star in the sky is someone who once loved us.”
高中 | High School
最近不知為何，常常想起我的高中歲月。如果我的人生是一部小說、所有事都有前因後果，那很多伏筆早在我高中時就埋下了。
For some reason, I have been thinking about my high school years a lot lately. If my life is a novel and everything can be traced back to a source, then most of the foreshadowing already started when I was in high school.
New Journey | 新旅程
On March 21st, I started my new journey as a Technology Program Manager at Visa.
三月二十一日是我在 Visa 擔任技術項目經理的第一天，我展開了一段新旅程。
攀岩 | Rock Climbing
距離我重新開始攀岩，已經快一年了。雖然攀岩乍看之下和我八字不合，但是它卻是我這輩子最美麗的意外之一。感謝所有曾經和我一起攀岩的人。
It has been almost a year since I started to climb again. Although rock climbing doesn’t seem to be the sport for me at first sight, it is one of the most beautiful serendipities in my life. Many thanks to everyone who once climbed with me.
《你好，李煥英》| “Hi, Mom”
去年年初，徐楨向我推薦《你好，李煥英》，但是當時媽媽剛離世不久，我實在沒有勇氣去看這部電影。將近一年之後，我終於點開了電影連結，結果還是哭暈了。
At the beginning of last year, Jane recommended “Hi, Mom” to me. Back then I did not have the courage to watch it because my mom had just passed away. Almost a year later, I finally opened the movie link, yet I still cried my eyes out.
夏威夷島（大島）| Hawai’i (Big Island)
在可愛島上盤桓數日後，我們前往夏威夷島（大島）。大島感覺比可愛島更鄉下，但我們每一天都有新的驚喜。
After a few days in Kaua’i, we traveled to the Island of Hawai’i (the Big Island). The Big Island felt even more rural than Kaua’i, yet we were wowed by new wonders every day.
可愛島 | Kaua’i
今年冬天因為新冠疫情持續肆虐，無法像往年一樣回台灣，所以我們決定利用假期造訪全美國離台灣最近的一州：夏威夷。第一站是有「花園之島」美譽的可愛島。
This winter, we could not go back to Taiwan because COVID continues to rage. Therefore, we decided to visit the state that is the closest to Taiwan — Hawai’i. Our first stop is the beautiful “Garden Island” — Kaua’i.

Turducken this year is like a dream come true, and I can finally make peace with all my unreconciled emotions since the beginning of COVID. I look forward to all the adventures we will go on together — thankful for everything we already have. I believe we will continue to be a part of each other’s lives, no matter where we are at – after all, when we gather, we are a flaming campfire; when we scatter, we are a skyful of shiny stars.
今年我們能一起讓火鴨雞重出江湖，對我來說簡直是夢想成真，我也終於放下了將近兩年的意難平。我期待我們日後將一起踏上的所有冒險，因為自從我們認識以來，我們始終聚是一團火，散是滿天星。
