過節
今天下班後去攀岩，從攀岩場出來後，感覺四周陰沉的街道似乎比平日更加昏暗了。我抬頭仰望一片漆黑的夜空，猛然想起，再不到一個月就農曆新年，今夜多半是新月。突然之間，我的眼淚撲簌簌地從臉頰滑落，刮面的北風將我的淚水化作尖細的冰針，插在臉上，刺骨的寒冷。

It’s my 20th birthday today, and I received the best birthday gift from my parents. Thank you Dad and Mom — it reminds me of all the wonderful things I thought I had lost through the course of life; it reminds me of the kind of person I want myself to be; it reminds me of the attitude I should have when life challenges me.

I have been struggling a lot since the beginning of Winter Quarter, with the brutal Chicago winter, challenging courses, difficult relationships with classmates, and my endless homesick. This morning my dad sent me this note, which I burst into tears after reading.
